    Why start with cardiovascular aging?

    Cardiovascular function is one of the most consequential systems to preserve as we age.

    Blood vessels become less flexible. Endothelial function can decline. Blood pressure tends to rise.

    These changes are part of the physiology of aging, even before disease is present.

    And the cardiovascular system does not operate in isolation.

    It supplies oxygen and nutrients to nearly every tissue in the body, from the brain and muscles to the kidneys, skin and other organs.

    That made cardiovascular function a powerful first place to ask a larger question:

    Null studies were not thrown away.

    A supplement literature review can look much more impressive if only successful studies are shown. This benchmark retained qualifying null results as well as significant results.

    Why compare fasted measurements?

    Meals can temporarily influence vascular tone, blood flow and blood-pressure measurements. The NOVOS Core sustained measurements were taken fasted.

    For the strictest like-for-like comparison, competitor results also had to be measured under fasted conditions. This produced the 55-comparison primary benchmark.

    For this benchmark, Core exceeded a competitor comparison when the competitor:

    A competitor counted as exceeding Core only when it demonstrated a statistically significant effect larger than Core under the applicable comparison conditions.

    This is the benchmark methodology. It is not a direct clinical trial comparing products in the same participants.
